Veryan Cricket Club

Veryan Cricket Club was formed in 1860 before joining the Cornwall Cricket League in 1951, originally playing on a small piece of land at the top of the village before re-locating to the sports and social club in Elerkey Lane in the mid-1980s.

The club has won the Hawkey Cup twice, in 1969 and 1987, while their highest league status saw them play in the old Senior 1 East in 1983, during which legendary leg spinner Dave Halfyard finished as the league’s leading wicket taker with 92.

Today we run one team, the first team playing in the LWC Drinks Cornwall Cricket League | Division 5 Central, captained by Matt Dixon.
